Our relationship with Arnolfini has been part of our journey since our first collaboration in 2015 with Somewhere in the City. Since then, AIM and Arnolfini have built a strong and evolving partnership, one that has sparked powerful collaborations, vibrant creative exchanges, and countless opportunities for learning and connection.
In October 2025, we proudly relocated our artist studios to Arnolfini, marking a major milestone in our shared journey. As Creatives in Residence, we’re delighted to now call Arnolfini home. This move brings AIM artists into a leading contemporary arts environment where they can create, collaborate, and connect with visitors, industry professionals, and the wider arts community.

This new chapter allows us to bring our core activities under one roof, strengthening our commitment to accessibility, inclusivity, and creative exchange. Our Art School programme continues every Tuesday, offering artists the chance to explore different approaches to making art, work alongside professional artists, visit exhibitions, and develop new skills. We’re also entering the second year of a special collaboration with Arnolfini and Jerwood Foundation. This exciting project will culminate in an exhibition titled Echoes opening 8 November, of artworks from the Jerwood collection curated by seven of AIM’s artists, including artwork created in response to the selected Collection.
We are excited to have launched a new weekly Creative Writing Group, where artists respond to current exhibitions, exploring their themes and context. The group plays an important role in shaping the language used around exhibitions, ensuring accessibility remains central to how work is shared with the public. Additionally, our Wednesday and Thursday artist groups now work from our Arnolfini studio, embedding AIM more deeply into the fabric, culture, and creative heartbeat of the building.
“We couldn’t be happier to be welcoming AIM to take up residence with us here at Arnolfini – it’s a move that takes them from being neighbouring creatives and collaborators to becoming part of our family. AIM always bring a lot of joy to our spaces and I’m looking forward to their company and to the diversity of their creative voices as we embark on ventures new!”
-Suzanne Rolt (Arnolfini)
At the core of this collaboration is a shared belief: the arts should reflect the richness and complexity of all communities. Together, AIM and Arnolfini are committed to breaking down physical, social, and institutional barriers that have too often excluded disabled artists from fully participating in cultural life.
We’re proud to share our work, our process, and our journey with you — and we’re excited to see what we’ll create together in this next chapter.
