What is NAIM?

NAIM (Neurodivergent Art In Motion) is a space for neurodivergent artists to connect, create, and grow together across Bristol and the South West.

With support from Art in Motion (AIM), NAIM is all about building a network and programme that celebrates neurodivergent creativity and supports artists at every stage of their journey. NAIM has been created and is run by neurodivergent artists and producers.

The network began in September 2024, and since then we’ve been listening to and learning from local neurodivergent artists. Their ideas, needs, and experiences have shaped the programme, which is designed to support artistic development, open doors, spark opportunities, and help build confidence and careers in the art world.

Sessions have included reflective group crits, where artists bring work to share with the group, exchange ideas, and offer support. We have run professional development sessions around applying for funding and opportunities, creative sessions, and workshops with creative practitioners. We aim to be expansive with the network, and offer a diverse programme that caters to a wide range of interests and needs.

Accommodations and Access

Before your visit, you can get acquainted with the building by using Arnolfini’s access guide here.

The address is 16 Narrow Quay, Bristol, BS1 4QA. Upon arrival, you will be met outside the back entrance of the Arnolfini and taken to the space by a member of the team so you feel more comfortable navigating the space. More information can be found in the itinerary about how to find the back entrance and who to call if you are struggling to find it.

We will be as direct as possible but if you need clarity on things or rephrasing please do ask. We will be providing some fidget and sensory toys but please feel free to bring your own, or any other accommodations you might need. At any point during the session, feel free to step out of the room for any reason, you do not need to ask.

If you have any access requirements or general queries please contact
info@artinmotion.org.uk

Are you a neurodivergent artist and want to be involved?

Your ideas will help to shape the development programme which is why we would love to hear from you about the ways we could support you as an artist. Please join us with your questions, frustrations and advice. Or if you don’t know what you might need next, we would love to meet you and talk about your practice at an upcoming event!
